Questions about pond accessories
What do I need for a fountain in my pond?
A fountain set is the easiest way to start. It comes with the pump, a selection of nozzles and an extension tube to bring the nozzle up to the surface. Sit the pump on a flat stone or brick so it's clear of sludge on the pond floor.
Fountain sets list the spray height for each nozzle so you can see what you'll get. Keep the spray narrower than about half the pond's width, otherwise wind blows water out and the level drops quickly.

Which fountain nozzle should I choose?
| Nozzle | Effect | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Bell | A smooth, dome-shaped water film | Calm ponds, sheltered spots |
| Tiered or cascade | Several rings of spray | Formal ponds |
| Jet or geyser | A tall, foaming column | Larger ponds, adding oxygen |
| Volcano or lava | A low, bubbling surge | Small ponds and windy gardens |
The nozzle needs to match the pump's flow, so check the pump's spec before buying a nozzle on its own. Smaller nozzles need less flow and give finer detail; bigger nozzles need serious flow and look best in larger ponds. Each of our fountain nozzle pages lists the fountain it gives with matching OASE pumps.
